Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between parenting attitudes, which have a lasting effect on children from the beginning of life, to adolescents¡¯ perception of safety in life.

Methods: Analysis data from the 3rd year (2020) of the ¡®Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) 2018¡¯ were used, and 2,192 middle school 3rd graders were selected as study subjects. STATA 15.1 was used as a statistical method.

Results: Parents¡¯ parenting attitude is more positive (¥â=0.21, p<0.01), relationship with friends is more positive (¥â=0.21, p<0.01), residence is in the metropolitan area (¥â=-0.05, p<0.01), and the higher the household monthly income (¥â=-0.06, p<0.05), the higher the level of life safety perception of adolescents.

Conclusion: Parents who will interact with their children the longest through infancy and childhood are required to have the correct healthy parenting attitudes. In addition, interventions such as education should be carried out to raise the level of safety perception for students living in non-metropolitan area and students in vulnerable classes at school and at home.
